Welcome to Matter at Hand

We are Jack Hoey III and Jack Hoey Jr., writing about a range of topics from faith and culture, to business and work (those two are all dad - I promise I won’t go anywhere near that stuff. - Jack III) and a lot more. We’ll write about books, history, games and maybe some fun stuff we find online. The range is pretty broad but then, we’re interested in a lot.

But why subscribe? Because the inability to commit is a sign of weakness.

Look, the thing is that by subscribing, you won’t have to worry about missing anything. And that is something you should absolutely be worried about if you aren’t subscribed. It should haunt your every waking moment. Your children will be afraid when they see your pale, gaunt visage. “Papa,” they will say, “are you quite well?” (in this scenario your children are from the 19th century) “No,” you will rasp in reply, “I… I fear I may be missing something.” Screaming, they will run out of the house and into the streets, perhaps being struck by a horse-drawn carriage. And it will be all your fault for not having subscribed.
